From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.

Click the Network icon

Select your modem from the Show drop down list (typically Internal Modem) Select the TCP/IP tab. Select Configure and choose Using PPP.

In the Telephone Number field, type your Access Number. In the Account Name field, enter your dialup username. In the Password field, enter your password, both your username and password should be in lower case with no spaces. Check the Save password box Click PPP Options button.

Set the options here as you see in the screenshot below.You may optionally remove the tick from Disconnect if idle for xx minutes should you need to.(or set it to 99 minutes) Click the OK button. Go to Modem tab

In the Modem drop down menu select your modem from the list. Set your options as shown Click the Apply Now button. Close the Network window
